Sub: Electricity - HT Billing- serving of bills in time and allowing 7 days time
to make the payment- instructions issued_- REg.

Some of the HT Consumer’s Association are making representation
that in most of the Circles, the CC Bills are not being delivered in time and the
clear 7 days time to pay the bill is not being allowed and they have requested
to give sufficient time to verify the Correctness of calculations.

2. In this connection it is instructed that as per Regulation No.14(b) of

TN Electricity Supply Code ,for HT Services, the due date shall be not less than 7
days from the date of billing. If the last day of the due date happens to be a
holiday, the due date shall be extended to till the next working day. 15 days
clear notice period shall be allowed prior to disconnection for non-payment.
1[In case the last day of the notice period happens to be a holiday, the period
of notice will get extended and the last day for payment to avoid disconnection
will be the next working day.] Belated payment surcharge shall be levied for HT
services during the notice period as specified in this Code.

3. Therefore you are requested to strictly follow the above Regulation

and if the Bill preparation is getting delayed for various reasons , the Consumer
may be allowed 7 days time from the date of the bill.
