ALTERNATE ENDING TO BLEACHERS BY

The ’87 team met at silo’s cabin a few miles out of town it was an old hunting
lounge, deep in the woods, on the edge of a small lake. Silo had put some money
into it. It was fully furnished from inside, it had 8 bedrooms each one with full
bathroom and in the bathroom there was Jacuzzi and hot steam, it had everything a
person could dream of and in the basement he had bar, pool , and home theater.
The lounge also had three decks for serious lounging.

Outside he had pool and lawn tennis courts and there were 3 people 2 were making
steaks and the other one was waiting for us. No doubt the three of them were
master car thieves. Nat sawyer brought three boxes of smuggled cigars two cases
of beer were on ice. It looked like they were really waiting for us. After we arrived
at the boathouse where silo, neely and Paul were relaxing in folding lawn chair,
chatting, swapping insults, telling jokes and they talked about everything but
football. Then as the sun went down they went inside and and they started drinking
hard after wards the steaks were served and there initial plan was to watch their
home game the Spartans played that night, but they were problem drinkers so no
one talked about leaving the cabin and going home, but when the game ended most
of them were unable to drive. Silo, Nat, and Paul were drunk and headed for a very
bad hangover but Neely didn’t drink that much. He stopped after a couple of
drinks.

The next day…

They all woke up at noon and the servant brought disprins for all of them, then
they got dressed and then neely decided to leave. Because he was tired of his home
town and all his golden memories of his past when he started saying good bye to
Nat , Silo and Paul they begged him to stay and be the new coach of the Messina
Spartans first Neely refused and then after a lot of discussion he finally agreed.
Neely was finally going to take the place of his late coach Rake. Rake was like a
legend to him in Messina but although he started coaching Spartans the same way
as coach rake trained him and all the other Spartans. Now slowly slowly Messina
started to forget rake and finally Neely had taken the place of rake in the people’s
heart of Messina. And now people had full trust on neely that he would be as
injustice to black men as coach rake did this happened because same as rake neely
also started shouting at black players. And the people started knowing that rake
and neely are the same.

Some people thought sometimes that neely was taking his revenge on the new
Spartans player for the injustice rake did to him. But on the other hand he coached
the team so well that Spartans won 18 matches in a row so some people were mad
on him and some liked him. In 5 years neely had changed the winds means the
team Spartan they have a record for not losing a single game they were just
excellent and unbeatable. Now everyone loves Neely for this accomplishment of
Messina Spartans now the whole U.S.A knows Messina Spartans.

10 years later…..

Now Neely is 59 years old and in 1 year he has to retired now there is a tense
situation in messina that what will they do without Neely they have to find a new
coach and they were many questions arising for Neely but now Neely was satisfied
as we can say because there was no worry from his side everyone think that now
he has shown his color now everyone thought that he became the coach just to
break rakes record and but what was here Neely returned and told everyone that he
would not stop coaching until he dies so everybody got happy to listen that people
were celebrating and what not .

And now when the name of Eddie rake was mentioned he would smile and maybe
laugh and tell one of his stories with rake with happy ending.
