Dear student:
The document you now hold in your hands
is literally the culmination of years of
research. Shortly after I graduated from civil
engineering at the University of Toronto in
1993, I started a database of consulting
engineering firms in the Toronto area to
facilitate my job search. I compiled a list of
firms and added various contact data as well
as the last date of contact. Throughout the
years, I updated it to reflect changes in the
marketplace.
The Civil Engineering Job Directory is a
published, updated version of that first
database from the early-1990’s. True to my
original format, I have provided the name of
the company with important contact details –
mailing address, web address, e-mail, fax
number, phone number and contact names.
I have also added the subdisciplines of civil
engineering that each firm hires.
I am publishing my database because so
many of you, my students at Seneca and
Humber Colleges – former and current,
wanted to know my contacts.
Hopefully, in time, some of the contacts in
this publication will become your contacts. I
also hope that this publication will remind
you of some of the firms that you’ve perhaps
forgotten, and also introduce you to some
new ones.
