Details: The Tour de Bronx is New York State’s largest free bicycling event and will take place this
year on Sunday October 24th. This special biking event attracts a record crowd of over 6,000
avid cyclists from throughout the tri-state area and beyond. The event features a 25-mile ride,
which is great for every age and skill level, and a 40-mile ride, which has a significantly
faster pace and covers a greater distance in the same amount of time.

The event is meant to promote bicycling, health and wellness in the Bronx and encourage residents
to make exercise a part of their daily routine. This year’s ride is dedicated to the memory of
Megan Charlop, a former Montefiore employee who dedicated her life to improving the
wellness of the people of the Bronx and was tragically killed earlier this year while riding her
bike.
