Ways to Prevent Teen Suicide

Signs of Suicide:

 Depression
 Isolation
 Self-harm
Depression:

 Crying frequently shows how troubled a


person might be
Isolation:

 Keeping your problems all to yourself.


Self-harm:

 Cutting, burning and hurting yourself in any


physical way
Ways to commit suicide:

 Jumping off a bridge or a building


 Hang self
 Drown self
Jump off a building:

 Can be very painful to kill themselves


Hang self:

 Hanging themselves is an excruciating way to


die and if this is not stopped soon enough,
the person would surely die
Drown self:

 Drowning themselves is a simple and quiet


way to kill themselves
What can you do to help?

 Speak up and talk to the person about the


problem
 Talk to a teacher
 Ask for professional help
Speak/Talk about the problem:

 Talking about the problem with the person


shows that you care and love the person
Talk to a teacher:

 By talking to a teacher, they may help out the


person or give suggestions
Ask for professional help:

 If you don’t know how to help the person,


maybe taking the person to a therapist would
help
 Would help the person express their problems
Opinions about teens:

 Many teens likes to keep things to themselves


and this includes their problems
 Thinks that they can resolve things by
themselves and that they don’t need any
help from anyone
 Teens should not take medications in order to
relieve stress
Keeping problems to self:

 By keeping things to themselves, they


become very stressed
Being on their own:

 Teens wants to do whatever they want


Medications?

 Being stressed and going on their own can


lead to even more troubles
 Teen might take medicines in order to relieve
stress which causes suicidal thoughts
