DRAMA 2010-2011

Week 2

I liked all the three activities we did in the classroom. In the first activity we sat down in three
chairs and acted out three different emotions respectively anger, fear and laughter using our
facial expressions. At first it seemed very easy to me, but in fact it wasn’t easy at all. I
pretended to get angry, to fear and to laugh. I wasn’t natural so I need to work on it. I liked
the activity because it gave us a chance to observe ourselves and each other.

I liked the energizer activity. We said “Hi” to each other with different emotions. I felt
relaxed and energetic after this activity.

In the third activity we closed our eyes and walked around the classroom for a few minutes.
At first it was very disturbing for me because I didn’t know the whole class. When I heard my
friend’s voice, I felt safe. I learnt to empathize with blind people. They use white sticks to
find their directions. Similarly, children, especially young learners, need to trust teachers to
take risks.

I didn’t have a difficulty in figuring out activities.

I can use the first activity in teaching emotions. Students can act out different emotions. In
this way I can understand whether they learn them or not. I can use the energizer activity
when I see my students sleepy or tired.
