Personal Expression

After 105 years Rotary is well established and has many wonderful
traditions that preserve our character.  As we move through Rotary’s
second century we must maintain these traditions while we establish
new ones.  Our future growth depends on changing our organization
while keeping our character.

To focus on this I like to recall the thoughts of two quite different

people: Irish playwright and cofounder of the London School of
Economics George Bernhard Shaw, and basketball hall of famer
Michael Jordan.

One said: “The reasonable man adapts himself to the world; the
unreasonable one persists in trying to adapt the world to himself.
Therefore all progress depends on the unreasonable man.”  The other
one said “Don’t be afraid to fail.  Be afraid not to try.”
