Wood River Land Trust
Statement of Ethics

The Wood River Land Trust dedicates itself to protecting and restoring land, water and
wildlife habitat in the Wood River Valley and its surrounding areas. Our goals are
established, our efforts are made, and our actions are taken with the long-term objective of
such protection and restoration. As a private, non-profit organization, we have an obligation
to provide a public benefit. We thus commit to avoid any conflict of interest or the
provision of any private benefit to any of our Board members or staff or to any other
individual, except to the extent they may benefit generally as a member of the public.

We pledge to conduct all of our activities in furtherance of the mission of the Land Trust and
in accordance with the highest professional and ethical standards and the Land Trust
Alliance Standards and Practices. We acknowledge the trust placed upon us by our donors,
landowner partners and the public. We are dedicated to being fiscally responsible, and we
will at all times be aware of our long-term responsibility to the lands we protect and restore.
We are committed to building and maintaining a strong, effective and capable land trust. In
addition, we pledge to foster open and productive relationships with landowners, our fellow
land trusts and the general public.

We strive to undertake only those actions that enhance the reputation and credibility of the
Land Trust and its place in the Wood River Valley and its environs. When appropriate, we
work cooperatively with other land trusts, government agencies, private individuals and
conservation organizations to accomplish high quality, lasting conservation of important
natural and historic landscapes.
