must learn the basic function of tools, proper
techniques and safety precautions

Why I Chose This Topic
 I hit a deer resulting in needed repairs

What is Auto Body Repair?
 Any type of repair
done to the body of a
vehicle

Importance of Auto Body Repair
 Vehicular accidents occur every day, resulting in a
$30 billion a year industry

 Not only are people driving their cars longer because


of the economy, car owners also wish to maintain the
appearance of their vehicles
What is Expected of an Auto Body
Technician?
 Technicians are
expected to have a
keen eye for detail

My Product
 I took the task of doing a repair to a damaged
vehicle

 This includes removing old parts, repainting


new parts, and placing them on the vehicle
Sanding
 Before repainting, the
part must be sanded

 The rough surface

something to stick to
Priming
 Priming seals the
surface, assuring a
smooth base for your
topcoat of paint
Applying Color Coat
 Paint is first mixed
with reducer to ensure
an even consistency
and a smooth coat

 The mixed paint is


then added to the gun
Clear/ Top Coat
 After a part has been
sprayed and properly
dried a protective
clear finish must be
added to protect paint

What I Learned
 That procrastination can harm you in the long
run

 That painting with a pneumatic paint gun is


tougher than it looks

 The major cost is involved in auto repairs is
