SHOCK ABSORBER

This is a shock absorber of

OPEL CORSA, a 4-stroke, 4-
cylinder car with petrol engine.
This is fixed in the front wheel of
the car. The main parts of this
part are coil, piston rod, bearing
(mounted on the top of the coil
spring), Stopper (inside the coil
spring), which mount (I links the
shocker to the body), brush etc.
the job of this part is to prevent
the car from the jerking of the
road. This is done by using fluid
inside the piston in which the
rod moves.
REPAIRING OF SHOCKER
A shocker is being repaired by
separating the piston rod from
the coil, for this very purpose a
tool is used known as Puller
(the yellow colored in picture).
The clip of the puller is being
fixed on the coils (as shown in
the figure) and the volts are
being tightened to provide a
compression on the coil which
helps in separating the piston
rod and coil. Shockers are
generally being damaged due
to the oil leakage.
LEAF SPRING

In lieu of shockers, leaf

springs are being used for the
shock absorbing purpose. This
is a picture of the rear wheel of
Chevrolet Tavera in which leaf
spring is clearly visible. In the
front wheel of this vehicle
shock absorber is being used.
Different plates of the leaf
spring help in absorbing the
shocks.
