Project Brief

Circuit city is one of the fortunate 500 companies, one of US leading providers of consumer electronics,
Circuit City strives to offer value to investors, businesses and consumers. It holds more that 685 super
store across USA and Canada. Procurement department is a strategic and tactical asset to circuit city.

The use of purchasing techniques, strategic sourcing and negotiation skills in the hands of skilled
procurement professionals can save the company substantial sums.

IGate Global Solutions LTD handles indirect procurement function for different business units of Circuit
City like Construction, Supplies, Fixtures, Fleet, IT TCOM and software compliance.

IGate ensures sound sourcing techniques, negotiations, operational decisions, and financial controls are
established and followed.

Our role for Circuit City includes:

• Creating Requisitions

• Sourcing and Dispatching Purchase Order to Vendors

• Vendor Reconciliation

• Handling Purchase and Support for Software

• Providing Email support to Purchasing department of Circuit City.

Challenges

1. Finalizing on the Reporting Structure : As the client did not have a reporting structure
using their system we had work extensively to provide them with a reporting structure
that they were extremely happy which providing them with accurate data.

2. Purchase Assistance Email: This part of the function was handed over with a backlog of
several months. The team worked over this and within a weeks time, we have not only
proposed how we can close the backlogs but also proposed a reporting structure which
would help to track these emails on a daily basis.

3. Vendor Reconciliations : Reconciliation was entirely different function which was not
part of Procurement, the team has taken this up as a challenge and is currently working
on complete end to end support to Circuit city, from creating requisition to following up
with vendors until they receive payments.

4. Software Audits: Conducting Audits was initially not a part of the software support
process, this process was exposed only after two months after the team went live, it has
just taken a weeks time for the team to get trained and start working on the backlogs
and proposed a date of commitment to close backlogs and bring it to current.
