Organization

Fooducopia was founded when two entrepreneurs realized a need to bridge the gap
between small scale producers and consumers. Our mission is simple: we connect food
entrepreneurs and local farmers to customers across the country. Customers have the
opportunity to experience the freshest produce and a wide variety of artisan foods filled
with the heart and soul of the people who made them.

Project

Fooducopia is seeking a Social Media & Media Relations Intern. During the course of the
semester, the intern will actively be engaged in decision making, participation, and
development of digital media marketing strategies. The intern will be working directly with
and reporting to heads of Social Media Marketing, Public Relations, Search Engine
Optimization and Web Content (including corporate blog).

Responsibilities

 Interfacing directly with Fooducopia sellers and customers and building


relationships
 Work directly on developing and implementing a social media marketing campaign
using a variety of channels to strengthen Fooducopia’s online community and
increase sales
 Writing web content that appeals to both people and SEO spiders
 Research and implement additional new media tools and strategies

Qualifications

 Current student or recent graduate in marketing, communications, public relations


or social media
 Understands social media tool box, including YouTube, StumbleUpon, Delicious,
Digg, Twitter, Facebook, Adwords, Google Analytics, and WordPress.
 Background in PR preferred, but not required
 Extreme attention to detail
 Strong writing, editing, and research skills
 Dependable and able to meet deadlines
 Ability to work individually, manage time and multi-task

Logistics

Fooducopia is located in Denver, CO but works mostly in a virtual office. You will
telecommute using Skype, Google Docs, Google Chat, and other various channels, but will
occasionally need to be available in Denver for meetings. We are willing to work with you if
transportation is an issue. Start date is January 15 and ends May 15.

Compensation

The internship is unpaid but college credit may be available.
