 The outline must reflect the thesis statement. The major areas of your thesis should
provide the information for your Roman numeral level.
 You must indent properly from one level to the next to show subordination.
 Remember that if you have a Roman numeral “I,” you must have a Roman numeral II.
Also, if you have an “A,” you must have a “B.”
 Each capital letter can be developed into one or two paragraphs depending on the topic
sentence for the paragraph.
