Our trip to Annakatti

On (date) we left for our first Out bound training trip to Annakatti, since only a hand few knew the
place it was easy to fool my classmates that we were going in for a big treat in a dense jungle.
Rajesh Warren a.k.a. Sycho broke the ice as soon as we left the campus gate, then it’s all
memories in the bus with songs, snaps, laughter and so on.. I really don’t know why we were
asked not to bring our camera but we should have! Moving on, we reached there by evening and
was divided into the three groups and sent to for replanting saplings. It was a new experience for
me as I couldn’t give it a try for Samrudhi ‘10, all blames go for putting the mundu!!!

The first day was little hard to adjust as there was no power, room allotment & space but what’s a
trip without any thrills? We learned to adjust. Adjusting with everything was fine other than the
water, it tasted simply awesome that the more I drank, the more thirsty I got! I wouldn’t blame
the water supply but the cooler as the tap water didn’t taste bad or even have a taste!! Hope the
next time we go, we can make good use of our fellow engineers to fix the cooler!! All the activities
conducted was excellent, it needed strategy, patience, corporation, we also learned that too many
smart brains can even ruin the game, fortunately we were short of that in the games we won.  I
am pretty sure none of the other classes would have had the chance of finding their own way up
the hill as we were confused with the existing one.

The best part i enjoyed was relaxing in the amphi theatre under the Tamarind tree after a heavy
meal, enjoying the gentle breeze and light music all by myself. It’s an experience which I will never
get in this busy city life. The trip in short was a good opportunity to make new friends, enjoy
nature and learn a few lessons.

Thanks to the faculty, college and everyone who made it worth going
