The Nainital trip!! Yes the day had arrived finally. I was really very excited
on the day we had to leave and reached the station at 6:15. Yes I was late
by 15 minutes. The excitement had to be overcome by packing which had
been left by me already till the last day. I was successful in doing my
packing till 6 though I was pretty much late. I had in my mind that I would
be able to do my packing on the last day. But I was wrong. Last minute
preparations never work. Neither in exams nor in packing bags. Yes I
learnt my first lesson on the first day itself. The trip was really working out
to find where I stand today and what I need to change in myself to make
myself a better person. So yes! I learnt to do my things on time and I am
pretty much successful in doing that but do not forget that the magic has
just begun. As instructed by the teachers I started spending time with
myself and found out that I had many good qualities and some bad
qualities too. I had started to enjoy being with myself. The first impression
of getting into the train and doing masti with friends and what not was
really amazing but aisa kuch nahi tha jaisa hamne socha tha. One blunder
was made in the starting only. We moved inside the compartments where
we were standing and made way for the ones who were in the 1st
compartment then the 2nd and so on. It took almost an hour to sought
the chaos. I learned that at times of problem it does not work by panicking
but only by thinking how to come out of it. Journey started! We were
enthusiastic and did a lot of masti. Soon we all dozed off. We had decided
to stay awake but were not successful in doing so as we were not able to
calculate that the masti we did also required rest to continue it the other
day. So we slept after dinner. The next day was the same and at night we
had our dinner from MacD . We were happy. Par khushi bhi kab tak rehti.
We boarded our next train and my god!! The type of people there, were
really cheap and were not ready to give our seats. Ok but that was the
challenge. We were able to make them move out. I learned that day that
we need to fight for our rights and till then we must not give up. Our
impression for the train now had really changed. Ahhh!!! That experience
my god was really bad but really important for us. It was our time to face
the real world and I understood soon that I had to adjust wherever I go
because people at every crossing are not the same and we need to adjust
in order to live peacefully. Okay! So we reached kathgodam and as soon
we reached there we all had our jackets out. Ahhh!! Really cold. It was so
cold that we would end up dying but it was too soon to do that. Haha. So
we went to our hotel-Shervani hilltop it was really amazing. On that day
we went to department of geology where we were given information on
different types of rocks found and where they are found. It was very
useful. Then we had rest. Next day we had a trek to tiffin top. Initially we
were afraid and not sure if we could reach the top but then that
excitement led me to the top and amazingly I was the first to reach the
top and that happiness within me! Ahhh! Really very amazing. I learned
that day that I should never give up as the happiness in success is in the
actual achievement and not in being in our comfort zone. Something more
pleasant may be awaiting us at the last. So to regret the more special
experience is not so good than to not give up and move on with the flow
to reach something more interesting than now. Next day we went for
Himalaya darshan. The view was really awesome and maggi with it was
like sone pe suahgaa. Then we had rest. And the river crossing adventure
was awaiting us. We learned about the fluvial geomorphology and then
went for river crossing. Jaydeep sir was guiding us through our journey
and he was trying to look for a safer journey for us for which he had to
undergo various accidents. He had a good quality of a leader. To make his
students comfortable he was suffering all the pains. I learned his quality of
staying first in line for your friends or partners. To cross the river was
really difficult or let me say to come out of it was becoming more difficult.
But somehow holding each others hands we moved out of the river. This
experience taught me too. When I was alone I was not able to cross the
river but when we held hands and crossed it together, supporting
everyone we came out easily. So one more thing to learn!! United we
stand divided we fall. The day before we went for shopping and boating
to naukuchiatal lake. There we had a ride in the paddling boat. Initially we
all were confused to make groups as no one wanted to part from their
groups but if we wanted to enjoy the ride we had to adjust and come out
of our comfort zones and soon the problem was resolved .The next day we
left for Corbett. Jim Corbett National park is tucked away in the foothills of
the Sub-Himalayan belt and is surpassed in scenic beauty. Situated in
Nainital district of newly created state Uttarakhand, the oldest national
park of Asia is name after the famous British hunter Edward James
Corbett. The reserve has a greater variety of flora and fauna. Thats all
natural! After all, you are going to enter Indias first tiger reserve under
the project tiger in India. It is a vast Eco-Sphere that is blessed with the
plethora of wildlife where you can enjoy several activities like jungle
safaris, trekking, bird watching, fishing, elephant rides and many more.
The next night we had a camp fire in the terrifying cold night and we all
danced to our hearts content!. We also went for jungle safari. All the days
we used to be late but toaday as we wanted to watch the tiger we were on
time but still due to some reason we were a little late and could not see
the tigers but just their footprints. We were all a bit angry. But we could do
nothing. Now we realized what the teachers must have felt when we used
to be late and we had to cancel a few of our plans. We began to be
punctual in our plans. Then we had to leave for Rajkot. Our train was
