Concept Note
The Manufacturing Summit 2010, the 9th edition of CII’s Flagship
Event for the Indian Manufacturing Sector, is scheduled to be held on
Friday – Saturday, 26th & 27th November 2010, at Hyatt Regency,
Pune.

The 9th Manufacturing Summit 2010 proposes to showcase to the


world the far-reaching changes being witnessed in the enlightened
thought process of the Indian Manufacturing Sector thus ushering in a
transformation in the basic manufacturing concept of India, and
heralding an era of re-inventing The India Way of Manufacturing. The
theme of the Summit, put simply, is thus – “Re-inventing” the
Indian Manufacturing Advantage : A new Agenda! and would
channelise a futuristic and long-term vision to the manufacturing
companies. This would, in turn, lead to evolution of a strategy/ agenda
which would determine the choices that Indian Industry has to make in
order to achieve their desired results.

Given the positive outlook and performance of the Indian


manufacturing sector in the decade leading upto 2010, India is well on
the way to becoming a Global Manufacturing Hub. This calls in for a
high-level of innovation and R&D in the country, sharing of knowledge,
along with full realisation of the Indian manufacturing potential,
combined with a resolute approach towards the various pitfalls
plaguing the sector.

The Summit would cover a wide range of evolutionary topics to hold


the interest of the stakeholders in the industry. These would include
