     Problems – targets, behavior, ethics, etc.
     Counseling a problem (with a client):
     Different from telling, manipulating, advising
     Recognize & accept the problem
     Reach a solution and act

     Types: Indirect, Direct, Confrontational


     Skills required:
     Listening, encouraging/asking, being neutral
    COMMUNICATING EFFECTIVELY
     Use different types of Questions:
     Elaboration, specific, feelings, behavioral, opinion
     Active Listening
     Demonstrating a message of listening
     Body language, continuation, reflecting facts/feelings, etc.

     Responding:
     Non verbal – posture, body language
    COMMUNICATING EFFECTIVELY
     Verbal communication:
     Empathetic
     Do not advise, listen, no rebuttals, (+) feelings
     Critical
     Judge, put down
     Search
     Asking for additional information
     Advising
     Recommend – what to/not to do
