    The AHAN-RURAL ENTERPRISES MODERNIZATION project was launched by the government of Pakistan in 2006 based on Thailand's "One Village One Product" concept to modernize the 44% of establishments located in rural areas. Over the past year, the project has partnered with provincial and district governments, rural support programs, and microfinance institutions to support rural micro and small enterprises engaged in non-farm products like handicrafts and woodwork. The goal is to elevate poverty in rural areas by making Pakistani products more competitive both domestically and internationally through skills enhancement, improved design, innovation, and quality management.

    AHAN- RURAL ENTERPRISE MODERNERIZATION:According to the Census Of Economic Establishments there are 3.2 million establishments across Pakistan, of which 44 percent are located in rural areas .To cater to this vast segment of a economy, government of Pakistan launched AIK HUNAR ,AIK NAGAR (AHAN)-RURAL ENTERPRISES MODERNIZATION project based on ONE VILLAGE ONE PRODUCT concept of Thailand . The project was initiated in July 2006. Over the last year AHAN has gained roots in all the four provinces .

    AHAN- RURAL ENTERPRISE MODERNERIZATION:-

    According to the Census Of Economic Establishments there are 3.2 million establishments across

    The project was initiated in July 2006. Over the last year AHAN has gained roots in all the four
    provinces . in collaboration with provincial and district governments , rural support programs ( RSPs) ,
    microfinance institutions and others stakeholders.

    The primary objective of this project is to elevate poverty in rural and Peri-urban ares of Pakistan by
    supporting rural , MICRO AND SMALL ENTERPRISES engaged in non-farm products , such as ,
    handicrafts , embroidery , ornaments, woodwork etc. the project envisages making Pakistani products
    competitive for both, national and international markets. AHAN interventions assist in skill
    enhancement of artistants improving product design encouraging innovating , better quality
    management .
