Junk food is a term given to food articles which have some or no nutrition value and adds a lot of calories to the body. These foods are quick to prepare goods containing excessive fats, sugar, salts and a lot of preservatives. Some examples of these foods are soft drinks, hamburgers, pizzas, wafers, chocolates, ice creams and donuts.
Effects of Junk Food:-
Excess of consumption of junk food can cause problems like heart diseases, these symptoms will not be seen now but will come to one in the future in the form of heart diseases and other diseases like clotting of blood etc. It can also cause problems like high cholesterol, apart from forming plaques and constricting arteries, cholesterol also affects liver where it is metabolized. High cholesterol from junk food and diet strains liver damaging it eventually. This is a long term effect. It also affects the energy levels in your body, as it does not provide the body with the nutrients it needs to suffice it can make you feel drowsy, weak and sleepy are just a few of the effects. Poor concentration is another result of excessive consumption of junk food. As junk food contains a lot of oil and hardly any nutrients, oxygen is not made available to the brain making the brain cells grey. Making one feel drowsy and sleepy.
Marketing and Advertisements!!
The attractive packaging, advertisements, logos and slogans of these companies helps them sell their products. These products advertisements are aimed at children who they can easily persuade towards buying these products. They never emphasize on the ingredients but always on the taste. Now It’s Your Decision After knowing the effects of junk food I would never want anyone to have it and I suggest that it should indeed be banned. Children are being targeted and they are the future, we don’t want them to suffer from obesity, heart problems, etc. a
