After I learned about your award for the Best Hotel for Business Meetings and Travel in 2009 I
researched your establishment and was very intrigued by all that you have to offer. As a recent
graduate from North Dakota State University with a B.S. in Hospitality and Tourism
Management and a minor in business administration, I would greatly appreciate and if you
considered me for the Assistant Front Office Manager position.

Throughout my education I have gained the knowledge that has prepared me for me for a
management position within the hospitality industry. Some of the classes I have taken that have
prepared me specifically for a Front Office Manager position are Front Office Management,
Foundations of Management, Resort and Spa Operations, and Hospitality Industry Management
Strategies. While taking these classes I have explored different ways to be a successful
manager. Also, my internship at the Hilton Garden Inn helped me gain experience with the
everyday tasks of a General Manger, a Sales Manager, Front Desk Manger, and a
Housekeeper Manager.

To further my experience in the hospitality industry, I have worked a Front Desk position at the
Wingate by Wyndham in Fargo, ND. I gained experience with all front desk tasks such as
performing check-ins, performing check-outs, making reservations, and assuring guest
satisfaction. Another task I had while working at the hotel was to cook and serve the guest
socials also known as happy hour. From this job and my other past customer service jobs I
gained a lot of communication and people skills which have helped me to keep guests happy.
