A BRIEF NOTE ON GROUND WATER CONDITION OF THE BHIWADI

BLOCK TIJARA, BLOCK NEEMRANA DISTT. ALWAR

Bhiwari Town
Bhiwadi area is located in the Northen part of Tijara Block, Distt. Alwar. The annual
normal rainfall is 628.42 mm (1901-2009) and actual rainfall of 2009 is 574 mm.
The main water bearing formation in the area is alluvium which comprises sand, clay,
kankar etc. The alluvial thickness varies from 100m to 130m below ground level. The depth
water level in Tijara Block (Pre Monsoon 2010) range from 20-30 mtrs where as Bhiwari
piezeometer is dry upto 47.00 mt. The stage of development according to draft report 2008
is 140.83% falls & categorized as over exploited. The rate of depletion of water level from
the year 1995 - 2010 is 0.31 m/years. The quality of ground water is potable and yield of
tubewells ranges between 15000 to 20,000 ltrs/hour.

Neemrana
It is located in North part of Alwar district. The annual normal rainfall is 586.79 mm
(1901-2009) and actual rainfall of 2009 is 383 mm.
The main water bearing formation is Alluvium / quartizite. The alluviual thickness
varies from 60 to 100 mt. The depth of water level in Neemrana is 42 mts (Pre monsoon
2010) whereas in the block it range from 28.90 - 56.75 m. The depletion in water level from
(Pre Monsoon 1995-2010) 0.73 mtrs/year.
The stage of development as per draft report of 2008 is 186.95% & falls in over
exploited zone category. The quality of ground water is potable. The yield of tubewells
ranges from 15000 to 20000 m/hour.
