TRUST

Who values trust more than any other value present in this vast and complex world? Well, I do.
Trust, when we hear it, nothing comes to mind at first, but later, when you realize what it truly
means, you start thinking about lots of things; your family, friends, teachers, your dog, house
helps, companies, even the government! You think whether these people – these very important
people trust you the way you trust them. You suddenly think about the time you lied to your
mother or father just not to get grounded or punished, you think about how you cheated in a test
with your friends. And you come to realize, did they lose trust on you, even for just a bit? Do
they still trust you after doing such acts? But what’s more important, is the thought on why you
actually did these things. And you would soon understand, after a moment of thinking
thoroughly, that it was you who lost trust in yourself. You lost trust in your abilities, and you lost
trust in your strength of overcoming what punishment is waiting for you. Truly, what is trust? Is
it simply ones reliance to someone or something? For me, trust is something so important, that
you won’t try to move or act if you don’t have it. By merely going out of your house, you trust
lots of things. By talking to your friends, by telling them your stories, secrets, ideas, simple
things that shows that you trust them. You trust that nothing will harm you, you trust that each
story you tell, and each story they share, are true. Generally speaking, a lot of things revolve
around trust, your daily life, your faith, and even values! Values like patience, humility, honesty,
reverence – all these wont function without trust. And, most importantly, love. You can never
love someone without trusting them, but you can always trust someone without loving them,
that’s just my opinion though. Like my sister said, “to be trusted, is a greater compliment than to
be loved”, and I personally agree to that. With just the knowledge that someone trusts you, you
won’t ask for anything more.
