Q. WHAT IS STRESS ?
A condition or feeling experienced
when a person perceives that “demands
exceed the personal and social
resources the individual is able to
mobilize.
It is also known as a condition or
circumstance, which can disturb the
normal physical and mental health of
an individual.
TYPES OF STRESS
Chronic stress
Upset stomach
Head ache
Backache
Physical and environment stress
We feel strained
Suffer an injury
Fail to get enough sleep
Psychological stress
We feel anxiety
We feel depressed
We start taking stress for small problems also
GOOD STRESS V/S BAD STRESS
Stress has always been In dilema by the people that
stress is only a bad thing but after many research
done by the researcher the stress has been divided
into 4 important types and they are as below

SHORT TERM EFFECTS

The short term effects are those effects which have an impact for short
term but if it has been not cured It will turn in to long term effect so
some of short term effects of stress are below

 Palpitation.
 Chest pain.
 Breathlessness.
 Dry mouth with difficulty in
speaking and swallowing.
 Loose stools
 Depression.
 Loss of appetite.
LONG TERM EFFECTS
There are long term effects of
stress and some of them are
Heart Attack
Sleeplessness
Chronic head ache
Memory Disturbance
Weight loss
MEANING OF STRESS MANAGEMENT

The definition of stress management is a


system that is aimed to reduce stress and/or
facilitate the person to cope with these
instances. It also mean to make our self
capable to fight the stress and to stay away
from stressful situation.
WAYS TO MANAGE TO STRESS

Planning or time management


Eat right
Exercise
Relaxing music
Laughter
Massage

Unwind drive/bike away

Meditate

Time out/Nap/Sleep
STRESS IN ADOLSCENCE STAGE OR OF ADULT
PEOPLE
Adults have more stress during this stage of life and
adolescents (age 13 to 20yrs) in this age they gets
stressed due to following reason and they are
Exams.
Managing relations.
Future plans.
Rejection in love.
Separation / fights of parents.
To do many things at a time.
WAYS TO COPE UP WITH STRESS FACED BY TEENAGERS

 TAKING DEEP BREATHS ACCOMPANIED BY THOUGHTS OF BEING


IN CONTROL ("I CAN HANDLE THIS").
 PROGRESSIVE MUSCLE RELAXATION, (REPEATEDLY TENSING
AND RELAXING LARGE MUSCLES OF THE BODY).
 SETTING SMALL GOALS AND BREAKING TASKS INTO SMALLER
MANAGEABLE CHUNKS.
 FOCUSING ON THINGS YOU CAN CONTROL AND LETTING GO OF
THINGS YOU CANNOT CONTROL.
 REHEARSING AND PRACTICING FEARED SITUATIONS (E.G.,
PRACTICING PUBLIC SPEAKING OR ASKING SOMEONE OUT ON A
DATE).
 Talking about problems parents, older adults
and friends.
 Lowering unrealistic expectations.
 Scheduling breaks and enjoyable activities,
such as music, art, sports, socializing .
 Do boring task first and then the enjoyable
task.
 Always be positive never think negative.
CONCLUSION
So we conclude that Stress is impossible to
avoid, but it always doesn't tend to make
you tense, irritated or upset. You have the
choice to get better or bitter. Be
productive, get better! Make yourself
committed to manage stress and enhance
your health and happiness.
