1. what is o.s.i model? give datailed into about o.s.i

*The OSI model is developed by ISO in 1984 to provide a reference model

for the complex aspects related to network communication. It divides the different
functions and services provided by network hardware and software in 7 layers.
This facilitates modular engineering, simplifies teaching and learning network
technologies, helps to isolate problems and allows vendors to focus on just the
layer in which their hardware or software is implemented and be able to create
products that are compatible, standardized and interoperable.

2. how does this model relate to data communication and networking?

*Open Systems Interconnection model is a reference model developed by

ISO in 1984, as a conceptual framework of standards for communication in the
network across different equipment and applications by different vendors. In the
OSI model, data communication starts with the top layer at the sending side,
travels down the OSI model stack to the bottom layer, then traveses the network
connection to the bottom layer on the receiving side, and up its OSI model stack.

3. how do you understand the encapsulation process that undergo dat

communication?

*Each layer provides a header to the data. The sender starts off at the
Application layer, and encapsulates the data and sends it off to the next layer .
The Presentation Layer then encapsulates the data again and ships the data off
again to the next layer . Again the data is encapsulated into another header until
it is sent off to the next layers of the OSI Model. Remember, since the sender is
sending data - you are starting off at L7 because you can't start off at L1.
