On or after 31 March 2009, but before 05 October 2009

If you made your application after 31 March 2009, but before 05 October 2009 and you
change your institution you must inform the UK Border Agency of your new studies
You must send an e-mail to the UK Border Agency telling them:

• the name of your new course and its start and finish dates

• your new university or college's name, address and contact details

So that the UK Border Agency can identify who you are, you should also tell them:

• your full name as it is written on your passport

• your nationality

• your passport number

• your date of birth

The address to e-mail is migrantreporting@ukba.gsi.gov.uk
The UK Border Agency will contact your new university or college to check that they are
willing to be your sponsor. If they agree, you should be sent a letter of permission saying
you can use your current student visa to study on the new course. However, we are
finding that students are not actually receiving a formal letter from UKBA; instead you
will just receive an auto reply from the UKBA once you have sent your email. You need
to bring a copy of this auto reply to QM Enrolment so that you can prove to QM that you
have sent your email to the UKBA. You can begin your studies while you are waiting for
a decision from the UK Border Agency.
If your new course will end after the end date of your previous course, you will still need
to make an immigration application to extend your student immigration permission even
if you have informed the UK Border Agency of the dates of your new
