SAP Business One requires five logical components (Figure 1). This document will focus
on installing SAP Business One Client on the MetaFrame Presentation Server 3.0 running
on Windows 2000/2003 with Terminal Services Enabled. The Installation of SAP
Business One, SAP Business One License Server, and database components can be found
in the SAP Business One administration guide. This documentation will focus on the
installation of the SAP Business One client running on Citrix MetaFrame Presentation
Server 3.0.

In this configuration, the SAP Business One server and the Citrix Presentation Server are
installed on different machines. The SAP Business One client is installed on the Citrix
Presentation Server and sessions to the SAP Business One application are opened from
any machine installed with a Citrix client. The ICA clients can be downloaded from
Citrix support page http://www.citrix.com/site/SS/downloads/downloads.asp?dID=2755.
Note: The proper installation order must be followed for successful installation of SAP
Business One. Refer to the Business One systems setup guide, Business One license
model, and Business One solutions guide for additional information.
Installing SAP Business One Client
Administrators can install SAP Business One Client after installing SAP Business One
Server and SAP Business One License Server. For additional information, please refer to
the Business One Administration Guide.
When installing an application manually on the terminal server, change the mode of the
installation. Change the mode on the server by using Add/Remove Programs or changing
the mode at the command prompt after installing the application.
When installing an application manually on a Citrix server, you need to change the mode
of the installation. This is accomplished with the following steps:

1. Open a command prompt.
2. Map a network drive (if it’s a network share) for the installation to avoid
complications later on; otherwise, utilize the CD-ROM for installation.
3. Type change user /install at the command prompt.
4. Execute the Business One client installation steps.
5. At the completion of the installation, execute the command Change user/execute.
1. Run the Client Setup from the SBO_SHR folder on the SAP Business One Server
(\\SAP Business One\SBO_SHR\Clients\Client_Setup\Setup.exe).

3. In the Customer Information window, enter User and Company names and then

the SA user.

Administrators may have to restart the computer, after the installation is finished.

Locate the SAP Business One.exe file in the drive letter:\install path \SAP Business
One.exe. Right-click the executable and select Properties. From the Version tab, view
the file version (for example, 6.70.182.0).
The final process is to publish SAP Business One so the application is made available to
users. Application publishing allows an administrator to:

Line and Working Directory are correctly associated with the application. Click
Browse and select the executable file that launches SAP business One
“C:\Program Files\SAP Manage\SAP Business One\SAP Business One.exe”.
Accept the default to Allow this published resource to be accessed externally
though MetaFrame Secure Access Manager. Click Next. Figure 9

6. Complete the Session Windows Size and the Color fields and click Next.

8. Specify the Concurrent Instances and the CPU level priority and click Next.

9. Specify the Citrix server (s) that hosts the SAP Business One Client. In this
example, select CITRIX-POC2 and click Add. Once the server is moved from
available servers to configured servers click NEXT. Figure 14

10. Specify the users and/or groups which have access to the published applications.

12. After the application is published, SAP Business One appears under the published
application folder. Figure 17
1. Open the browser and type in the FQDN of Citrix MetaFrame Presentation Server
running Web Interface. Login with the username, password and domain credentials
and click Log In. Figure 18
2. Click on SAP Business One Icon to access the application over the internet/intranet.

• To get full functionality of the SAP Business One application; copy the entire
SAP Manage folder from the SAP Business One server machine into the My
Documents folder on the Citrix client.
• To run add-ons via the Citrix server, register, install or remove add-ons on the
Citrix server only. Once an add-on is installed and registered on the Citrix server,
administrators can run it from a Citrix client. The Citrix client is not authorized to
install or register add-ons.
• Microsoft Office must be installed on the Citrix server for proper export
functionality with Excel and Word.
