The business took its name from "STARBO", a
camp of miners of the 19th century located in the
“Mont Rainier" which reminded the formers of
“Starbuck".
Starbuck is one of the persons in Moby Dick.
This is the reason the logo is mermaid with a crown.
But Countries have different cultures.
Therefore, in some cases, the original Starbucks logo
couldn't be kept and had to be modified.
We started with one
and only store in
Seattle.
Now we are selling
coffee all over the
world, with more than
17,000 Starbucks
Coffee in 55 differents
countries.
We wanted to open
900 stores every year
outside the US
territory. But we are
now openning more
than 2,000 every
years.
