Costume & props plan

When thinking about the overall costumes, we took modern attire into
account the most, considering that most social realism films are
mostly based in modern day. Also, from looking at social realist films,
we found they based around youth or youth culture, so we have also
thought this factor when creating the costumes and props
Costume – Upper body

• For the upper body of the costume, we chose the iconic hoody as it has been
branded the trademark of youth anti-social behaviour and culture by the
media. It also carries with it strongly negative connotations that when seen,
people will instantly recognise it.
Costume – Lower body

• For the shoes, we decided to choose quite scruffy looking modern trainers
and standard looking jeans, to reflect that the character doesn’t really care
about his appearance and what other think of him.
Props – drugs

• Using a small bag, we have filled it with flour to try and create a realistic
(although not too realistic) look to the theme that will play through quite
heavily during our short film
