List of Projects for Energy Systems

Each group comprising two students will choose one energy system; see the Table below.
Various transport phenomena in the chosen energy system should then be studied, be
summarized in a report (see separate instructions for the report), and be presented in a lecture
(one hour).
A total of five different studies should be carried out for the chosen energy system; these can
be selected from the following list:

 Transport by molecular motion (Chapters 1, 9 and 17)

 Transport in one dimension (Chapters 2, 10, and 18)
 Transport in arbitrary continua (Chapters 3, 11, and 19)
 Transport in turbulent flow (Chapters 5, 13, and 21)
 Transport in large systems (Chapters 7, 15 and 23)
 Non-dimensionalization and scaling analysis
 Historical, social and financial aspects
 Sustainability
Note that some of the energy systems may require additional types of transport and/or
phenomena that are not discussed in the textbook; the students should then explain these
phenomena in both the report and lecture.

A softcopy of your slides should be uploaded to IVLE at least two days before your
lecture.
