PROCEDURE

Excision biopsy of lateral neck mass right

DIAGNOSIS
Lateral neck mass right, prob. Lymphadenitis R/O malignancy

SIGNS AND SYMTOMS


• Swollen, tender, or hard lymph nodes
• Red, tender skin over lymph node

Lymph nodes may feel rubbery if an abscess has formed.

HEALTH TEACHINGS
1. Take all medications as prescribed upon leaving the hospital after the surgery.
2. No heavy lifting or activity.
3. Keep incision out of sunlight.
4. Showering is preferable to bathing. If bathing, do not submerge your neck
incision under water.
5. Return for follow up care as requested by the surgeon.
