Oracle (ORCL) Attracted Big Buyers in Q4

The money manager, which now owns 37.18 million shares, was the biggest buyer
of Oracle in the December quarter. Marsico Capital’s Oracle position is worth more
than $1.2 billion, enough to put it among the firm’s 10 largest holdings.
Oracle shares traded between $26.81 and $32.27 during the December quarter.
Fidelity, Oracle’s #5 investor, picked up 16.3 million shares in Q4 and now owns
114.3 million shares worth more than $3.7 billion.
A few other tech-savvy money managers made big bullish bets on Oracle in the
December quarter. Among them, Waddell & Reed ($39.3 billion in long equity
assets/33.7% tech weighting) purchased 18.06 million shares and now owns 20.28
million shares. The $659-million position puts it among the firm’s 10 largest.
Waddell & Reed’s other large tech holdings: Apple, NetApp and Google.
Columbus Circle Investors ($14.4 billion in long equity assets/31% tech weighting)
added 7.93 million shares and now owns 8.15 million shares. Oracle is now among
the firm’s top 12 holdings.
Montag & Caldwell ($13.2 billion in long equity assets/22.3% tech weighting) more
than doubled its Oracle position, purchasing 5.66 million shares. The firm now owns
10.43 million shares worth $334 million.
Jennison Associates ($77.2 billion in long equity assets/26% tech weighting) picked
up 4.89 million shares and now owns 37.48 million shares worth more than $1.2
billion. Jennison top tech holdings: Apple, Amazon.com, IBM, Google, Juniper
Networks and Oracle.
