We recommend building strong habits from Pre Primary sections!
For the overall development a child needs

• A hygienic environment
• Good food for mind and body
• Good exercise
• Good sleep
• Healthy and hygienic habits
Students generally avoid using washrooms in
schools:

• Their 1st experience with a public toilet


• Washrooms are not clean and well maintained
• Bad-Odor in the toilets
• Sometimes no soap and towels
• Indecent graffiti written on the walls

LEADING TO:
• Lack of concentration
• Bladder and kidney infections
• Poor drinking and eating habits.
Abuse of Washrooms

• Students leave the taps open


• Damage fittings, door handles, locks with forceful use
• Soaps and towel tissues used as toys
• Scratch walls with slogans and drawings
• Dis-respect the Janitorial staff

Make the Act participative

• Educate students about the importance of Clean and Hygienic Washrooms

• Have class room debates on the subject


• Provide Live Projects on Cleanliness around your school involving
washrooms as the most critical area
• Painting / Poster competition on My visit to the Washroom
• Story telling on different washroom visit experiences; taking out
improvement plans for the school washroom
• Budgeting projects to student committees to handle school office supplies
– including washroom supplies
Participative committee

• Form a student, parent, teacher and housekeeping member


committee; led by the principal / trustees
• This committee is in charge of all the problems related to
washrooms
• They will investigate washrooms periodically; note
improvements and areas of concern and take actions
• Other students directly coordinate with the committee on any
issues related to washrooms.
• This committee will have rights to act upon the misbehaving /
abusive students
• Encourage teachers to use / surprise visit the student
washrooms
Positive Results

• A change in the students’ attitude and behavior towards


themselves ,others, washrooms and school.
• Students will grow up as socially responsible citizens
• Learn to give and gain respect of all including the
Janitorial staff
