A National Television Channel called “SpyWare” telecasts a show called “You Cheat, I Ditch”

(YCID) under the production house of “FireWall”. The show YCID which is a very popular
reality show with high TRP’s includes a sting operation conducted on a person by his/her partner
who suspects that the person on whom the sting operation is being conducted is secretly having
another relationship.

For the purposes of clarity and brevity:

The person on whom the sting operation is being conducted shall be called:

• The “suspect”

• The person who is conducting the sting operation shall be called the “lead”

• The person who is used as the sting agent/actor shall be called the “agent”

• The sting operation shall be called “loyalty test”

The format of the programme is based on the lead appealing to the channel producers to conduct
a loyalty test on the suspect. The channel producers hire an agent to pretend that he/she is
romantically interested in the suspect. The agent lures the suspect into believing that they can
perhaps have a romantic relationship. Based on the behavior and interpersonal relationship of the
suspect and the agent, the loyalty test is conducted. If the suspect is seen to be too close and
comfortably romantic with the agent, the suspect is branded as a cheat. The whole loyalty test is
carried out in the presence of hidden cameras. Footage of the same is captured by all hidden
cameras and microphones and the same is telecasted through the show YCID every Thursday
at19:00 P.M. IST on the channel SpyWare.

The counsels are directed to consider ALL LEGAL ISSUES PERTAINING TO THE
CASE IN HAND.
