JUST HELIUM NOT HEARTFELT.

It takes more than saying you are a Christian. You have to live it.
Materials:

2 balloons – round

1 balloon – whistler

1 balloon pump

1 helium tank

Symbolism:

Balloons = each of us

Hand = church/Word of God

Pump/helium tank = alter of salvation

Air/helium = Christ or salvation

Tying off balloon = sealing your commitment in the heart

String = being led by … God and His Word …… Holy Spirit

Helium = baptism in Holy Spirit and FREEDOM from sin

(NOTE: YOU CAN CHANGE THE HELIUM TO BE SALVATION AND IT’S FREEDOM FROM SIN BY LEAVING
OUT THE AIR FILLED ROUND BALLOON PART)

Lesson:

ALL are balloons. They must be filled with air to fulfill their purpose. What you do with that air is your witness.

Activity:

Fill the whistler balloon with air (comes to Jesus)

Do not tie it off (does not make a commitment in heart)

Hold it (while in church is good)

No stringe (refuses to be led by God/Holy Spirit)

Let go (goes into everyday world)

Balloon runs around whistling (makes a lot of ‘religious’ noise as it gets further from church/source)

Fill the round balloon with air. (comes to Jesus)

JUST HELIUM NOT HEARTFELT.

It takes more than saying you are a Christian. You have to live it.
Tie it off. (makes commitment to heart)

Attaché string (allows God’s leadership based on his word/lives a Christian life in the world)

Place it on the table. (lives it)

Fill 2nd round balloon with helium. (accepts baptism in Holy Spirit)

Tie off (commitment to being led by spirit)

Attaché string (allows Holy Spirit to lead according to God’s Word)

Release and see the freedom and ease of movement the helium allows (freedom in spirit)

Special Note: After a space of time every balloon (depending on the material it is made from) will gradually lose
it’s air/helium. It MUST return to the source of air/(pump/helium) and be re-filled to retain it’s fullness. As the
balloon, we must all return and do our first works over (renew commitment/be revived) to continue to be the most
effective and fulfilled witness/Christian
