Scheme for the Preliminary and Main Examinations.

1. Preliminary Examination

The examination will consist of two papers.


Paper I General Studies 150 marks
Paper II One subject to be
selected from the list of 300 marks
optional subjects .
Total : 450 marks

 (i) Both the question papers will be of the objective type

(multiple choice questions).

(ii) The question papers will be set both in Hindi and English

Minimum Educational Qualifications :

a degree of any Recognized University, or an equivalent


qualification.

Note I : Candidates who have appeared in Final year examination, will


also be eligible for admission to the Preliminary Examination.
Note II : Candidates possessing professional and technical
qualifications which are recognized by Government as equivalent to
professional and technical degree would also be eligible for
admission to the examination.
Age Limits :

A candidate must have attained the age of


21 years and must not have attained the
age of 30 years .
The upper age limit prescribed above will
be relaxable:
5 yrs. For SC/ST
3 yrs. For OBCs
Number of attempts :
Every candidate appearing at the Civil
Services Examination, who is otherwise
eligible, shall be permitted four attempts
at the examination.

OBCs………………….7 attempts
SC/ST……………….NO LIMIT
Fee
A candidate seeking admission to
examination must pay to the Commission
a fee of Rs. 50.00 (Rupees Fifty only)
through a single Central Recruitment Fee
Stamp of requisite denomination.

Candidates belonging to Scheduled Castes/Scheduled


Tribes and Physically disabled are not required to pay
any fee.

AS EARLY AS POSSIBLE
BECAUSE THE PREVOUS RESULTS SHOWS THAT THE EARLY
STARTER HAD AN EDGE OVER OTHERS…………….THEY

BUT THOSE WHO STARTED AFTER THEIR GRADUATION OR


POST- GRADUATION TOOK ATLEAST 2-3 YEARS……………
