        To utilize the line or network efficiently.
        To decrease the delay time for important packets.
To tune the priorities as per requirements

The system should support the features of
administration both at client level and as well as at server level. It
should also work either at workstations or dumb terminals.
 

Drawbacks of Existing System

 
         Administrator should be very much aware of
working with Linux environment to manage large
networks.
         Administrator should remember all the commands
to perform a simple task.
NETWORK PERFORMANCE
ANALYSIS AND TUNING
 ABSTRACT
   Data on a network will be flowing in the form
of packets. The traffic on the network is high
when more number of users are working.
There will be some important works that
should be completed first. There are some
important users and some users are not so
important depending upon the type of work.
Some works should be completed without delay.
 In NETWORK PERFORMANCE ANALYSIS AND
TUNING, it fetches the network parameters such
as traffic on the network , then calculates the
percentage of present usage of the line or network.
Later it gives priority to the important works or
users, by tuning the priorities of the users on the
network or by restricting few packets. Hence
important jobs are done without delay. Thus optimum
performance of the network is achieved. This is a very
useful tool for a system administrator.
  
      Fetching the network parameters,
They include
 o       Number of users working in the
network
 o       List the protocols being used
 o       Number of packets
 o       Packet sizes
 o       Line utilization
      we Calculating the usage of network:
 The percentage of current usage of
the network with respect to the capacity of
the server/line/protocol.
      Tuning the priorities or restricting
few packets.
 The project was implemented in Linux
using ‘Java’.
