What catches the audiences attention when looking at a spy thriller is the Codes an conventions, in
other words these are the signs that tell the audience what type of genre the film is. An example of
Codes and Conventions in a spy thriller movie would be quick cuts, fast pace in terms of editing, camera
angles that changes, music that gives away tension e.g.

In order for our group media project to be a success it is important to know what the audience are
looking for in a Spy thriller, therefore we have to take the audiences opinions value them, and take it
into consideration. For example another code that would be appropriate to use in a Spy thriller would
be if the protagonist is a strong dominant male, this is a popular one that the audience prefer when
watching spy thriller’s as we have seen it countless of times in movies such as James Bond, The Bourne
identity e.g.

The only way to find out what the audience are seeking for is if a questionnaire what given to them to
gain information and feedback.
