BENM3133 (IC Design & Process)

SEMESTER 2, SESSION 2010/2011

ASSIGNMENT

All assignments must be typed and numbered.

Marks will be given based on the answers, discussions, originality and creativity.
Date of Submission: Week 15 (Before or on 13 APRIL 2011)
No. of students / group: Maximum: 10 students

Each assignment should include the following parts.

1. COVER PAGE:
Your name, your partners’ names, the date of submission, your and your partners’
matrix numbers, subject, your lecturer’s name, etc.

2. QUESTION:

(i) Design one interest system in any electronic field for your company by using
CMOS technology.

(ii) “New MOSFET structure”.

Find papers from Journal or conference proceedings that related to new
MOSFET structure (except conventional MOSFET). Review and understand the
basic concepts of the topics and summarize it. Make sure you refer to the latest
papers only (not more than 10 years ago). Explain the fabrication processes for
the respective devices as given in the paper. Analyze the results and explain it
based on physical characteristics that happen inside the devices.

3. ANSWERS:
All questions must be answered clearly with the help of diagrams, if possible. In your
report should have all these criteria:
 Introduction
 Contents/Process
 Conclusion
 References:
o Document the references using standard scientific format.
Books or Magazines : Author, “Title”, publisher, City, Date, page
Journal : Authors, Title, “Journal”, year, volume, page
