STRENGTH
•Had Pulsar brand attached to it
•Lack of presence of ‘performance , crisp styling and sporty image’
in the commuter bikes available at that time.
•Target was youth which holds a large segment of population.
•Low price and light weight, operates in the same zone as 125cc
segment.
•Proper Positioning and Promotion
•Live up to what it portrayed
•Acted as an all rounder , as an upright riding stance is provided
without losing the sportiness.
•135cc engine is more powerful in comparison to the
engine of XCD 135.
•According to Bajaj the 135cc DTS-i engine in Pulsar 135
LS is the world's first DTS-i engine to feature 4 valves.so
first mover advantage.
WEAKNESS
• Constraints of price.

• Lacks in features and performance that are offered by pulsar


220cc.

• Though all rounder it suited mostly to the youth class

• not a good strategy to discontinue products and then again


launch it with smaller engine or bigger engines
OPPORTUNITIES
• With the change in advent of technology Pulsar 135LS can
improve itself more

• The Pulsar brand has been strongly associated with creating


the sports segment in this country and our vision is to make
India a country of bikers from a country of commuters.

• The new Pulsar 135LS is attractively priced and leads the


charge in democratizing the thrill of biking and accelerating
the growth of sports segment in this country.

• Can tap other segments of the market i.e., people above the
age of youngsters.
THREATS
• Sales of Honda CBF Stunner.

• It has threats within its own products of Bajaj

• Competitors like Hero Honda Splendor which is a well


recognized commuter
