Tweed Labor candidate’s police

promise defies belief
“…Labor broke its 2007 promises – why should we believe them in 2011?”

A Labor election promise of increased NSW police numbers has zero

credibility, according to Tweed Nationals MP Geoff Provest.

“The young Tweed Labor candidate’s claim that ‘a re-elected Labor

Government’ would deliver 360 more cops just cannot be believed, and even
if it could be the Tweed Labor candidate has been unable to secure any for
the Tweed,” Mr Provest said.

“After 16 long years of Labor the Tweed has only one officer for every 700
local residents compared to one for every 500 in Sydney.”

“In addition, there is still no sign of the new Tweed police station Labor
promised before the last election.”

“The Labor candidate needs to explain why Labor has broken its 2007
promised before anyone will take their 2011 pledges seriously,” Mr Provest
concluded.
