Potter’s Possibly Perfect Performance!

In the seventh and final chapter of the
Harry Potter series, Harry and his
friends face new troubles. They must
collect all the Horcruxes that Lord
Voldemort has hidden. They have to
find them all and destroy them even
though they do not know how, and this
time, they are not at Hogwarts.

Immediately, viewers can definitely tell that

the film has taken a much more adult turn. It
is much more emotional than the other
Potter films, with much more character
development. The audience laughed and cried
and felt the pain that not only the trio were
6 feeling, but also the other characters as well,
who seem to have subtle yet important roles.
The soundtrack is amazing; Alexandre
Desplat has done a brilliant job on the music.
He had a lot to live up to since this is not only
the first part of the final installment, but it
needs to outshine and wrap up all of the other
films at the same time. There are
several tracks where there are definitely hints
of the other soundtracks, which die-hard fans
will enjoy.
The cast and crew have matured since the
first Potter film. Fans and critics will all agree
that David Yates as director has grown with
each movie and in this one he brings the love
of the series to the screen. Actors Daniel
Radcliffe, Emma Watson and Rupert Grint
have developed and their acting abilities now
impact the audience emotionally. Although
the principal actors have always been sincere
and dedicated about the Harry Potter tales, it
has taken seven movies and over a decade for
those emotions to shine through.

One minor irritation was that the writer left out
some of the moments that fans were most looking
forward to. Viewers who might not have seen the
previous Potter movies might be a bit confused
because some of the continuing story lines were
not fully explained. A touching moment that fans
were looking forward to was when Dudley tells
Harry that he does not think Harry is a “waste of
space” just before the Dursley’s all leave. This
would have been such a lovely scene. Hopefully,
this missing scene will appear as a special
features on a future DVD realease. These small,
but significant details earns the movie a score of
4 IB apples out of 5.

Have you spotted the latest fashion fad?
You will have seen it on nearly every
teenybopper around. It’s the bad hair day
hat! The bad hair day hat is easily spotted
not only due to its unmistakable ugliness,
but also because of its oh-so-meaningful
statement.
We have all had a bad hair day before, and
when you have given up hope on trying to
fix it, there is only one solution: tell everyone
about it with your hat while covering up the
embarrassing and devastating culprit.
Yet what is it that has caused this popular hat
to become even more popular? Either there
is a bad hair day epidemic that has spread
across Sweden or it is just a tool to fit into the
“in crowd”.
However, is the hat a savior when you are in
despair or is it just a desperate cry for

It is usually drivers who are
associated with speeding, but this is
about to change.
The revamping of some rooms has
caused certain classes and lockers to be
relocated. IB students, unfortunately,
have been relocated from K to H and
their lockers ended up in R.
This long walk from H to R to H has
caused loud grumbles from students.
attention? We would most definitely cast our votes
in the “We don’t care box” in this matter. In
reality, no one really cares about your hair; they
are, in fact, more concerned with their own hair.
So here are a few quick and easy tips on how to
prevent a bad hair day and avoid the bad hair day
hat forever.
1. Wash your hair regularly!
2. Do not go to bed with wet hair without
putting it up! If not, your hair will be totally
shapeless in the morning.
3. Remember that hairspray is your savior!
4. Invest in a dry shampoo spray! No water
needed. Just spray in your hair and towel dry.

never acceptable!!
Next time we will discuss grumpy old ladies
whose mission in life is to verbally harrass young
IB students.
However, why not look on the bright side?
Take this opportunity to get some CAS hours.
Running from locker to class to locker while
carrying heavy books and dodging
unsuspecting Rudbeck students is surely
worth several hours of action.
You will improve your health, increase your
agility and improve your muscle tone.
Take advantage of this situation and get a
running start on your CAS hours! GO!
