Subject New Elementary School Holding Facility (Waring Station Site). Feasibility Study

Montgomery County Public Schools (MCPS) is about to conduct a Feasibility Study for a New
Elementary School Holding Facility (Waring Station Site), located at 18815 Waring Station Road, Germantown,
MD,20874.

The design is being conducted by a Facility Advisory Committee (FAG) that is chaired by Principal of
Matsunaga Elementary School, Ms. Judy Brubaker. The FAC will include Civic Associations, neighbors,
govemment agencies, the design architects; Proffitt & Associates' Architects, and staff from MCPS Division of
Construction. .

The purpose of the study is to develop preliminary design options for the school project. It is an evolving
process whereby input from the previous meeting is incorporated into the ongoing proposed design. These
meetings are to determine spatial relationships within the school's interior, the pedestrian and traffic flow of the
site and how the school will fit into the community at large.

This letter is to inform you of community meetings scheduled to discuss feasibility options for the new holding
facility. MCPS extends an invitation to you to participate in this process. While all are invited, the community is'
·encouraged to send representatives from their respective streets, areas, and associations. Everyone present
will have the opportunity to hear about the study process.

As shown below, the FAC meeting/work sessions are scheduled in the evenings to allow for maximum
community involvement All meetings will take place' in Roberto Glemente Middle School, located at 18808
Waring Station Road, Germantown, MD 20874.
