PROJECT: Design a 10 V regulated power supply able to supply a maximum load current of
10 mA. In your design use the diodes 1N4148 and Zener diode BZX84C 15.

DC Output: 10 V
Load Variation: O.5 – 2 kilo ohms
Ripple voltage: < 0.5 V for 1 kilo ohm load
Load Regulation: Better than 5mV/mA
Line Regulation: Better than 5mV/V

In you design you must mention the values of the resistors, capacitors, average and maximum
current through the diodes, transformer turn ratio and the current carrying capacities of the
transformer coils. Present these values neatly in a tabular form.

Typed report must contain the following in the same order:

1. One to two pages on introduction to rectifiers and voltage regulators (NOT A COPY
FROM THE INTERNET).
2. Your results in a tabular form.
3. Hand calculations showing all details including ripple voltage, capacitor value, resistors
etc. You do not have to type these calculations.
4. PSPICE design circuit i.e. simulated diagrams, saved files etc.
5. Graphs: vs vs t, vo vs t for different loads shown on separate plots. The plots vs vs t and vo
vs t must be shown on separate plots. Use 0.5 kΩ, 1 kΩ and 2 kΩ loads.
6. Conclusions, discussion and comments.
7. Cost Analysis. You can charge your time at the rate of $ 25.00 per hour.
