A leading Irish energy provider, Bord Gáis Energy is responsible for delivering gas, electricity & home team
energy services to over 1,000,000 industrial, commercial and residential customers. Applications are invited
from suitably qualified candidates for the position of Pricing/Demand Analyst.

The Role:
The successful candidate will have a broad range of responsibilities within the Bord Gáis Energy Portfolio
Optimisation (Pricing/Channel Strategy) team, focusing primarily on producing accurate customer demand
forecasts, efficient administration of variable priced products and delivering competitively priced electricity
supply contract offers for both the I&C market (site specific offers) and tariffs for the mass market. The role
requires a highly numerate individual, with excellent proficiency in spreadsheet modelling, who will commit to
developing and delivering forecasting and pricing solutions with minimal direction. The person should be
capable of assuming a proactive role in the continual development of pricing models, products and tariffs to
meet ongoing business requirements in a constant change environment. The position will initially report to the
pricing manager however it may be deployed to another sub team/ team within the wider Portfolio Optimisation
department.

Responsibilities include:
 Production and development of customer/sector demand forecasts (targets and contracted sales based).
 Reconciling forecast demand to actual, communicating the outputs of same in a solutions oriented mode
with the objective of continuous improvement in forecasting.
 Continual review, analysis and updating of forecasting models/data/assumptions to ensure accurate data
transfer to/from Pricing.
 Overseeing the correct administration of operations associated with variable priced supply offers and tariffs.
 Ensuring correct process documents for the above are in place and regularly updated for continuous change.
 Efficient generation of appropriately priced supply offers/tariffs for the I/C, SME & Residential customers.
 Participation in the development of new system(s) with appropriate system data flows & processes.
 Liaise and clearly communicate with various internal departments e.g. Sales, Trading, Billing, IT etc.
 Regular production of high quality reports and dashboards.
 Data gathering/mining of pricing information from various BGE Systems.
 Other duties as may be assigned from time to time.

Qualifications/Requirements:
Relevant Third Level Qualifications (e.g. Maths, Business, Economics, Engineering).
A minimum of 3 years experience in a responsible analytical position in a busy commercial environment.
Strong analytical and problem solving skills with an ability to develop/explain/deliver credible solutions
Good general systems experience particularly in Microsoft (excel) and database applications
Highly numerate with good attention to detail
Excellent communication (written and oral) and interpersonal skills
Develop credible, effective working relationships with internal and external parties
Aptitude to work on one’s own initiative, as well as follow direction, in a small team environment
Ability to work to tight deadlines, organise, prioritise & handle multiple tasks
Experience in system design, project management and/or energy industry desirable though not essential
