    Writing Assignment 2

    Math 105
    Spring 2011

    Find an article discussing the results of a survey in a newspaper or magazine. The survey cannot come
    from e-mails, conversations with friends, or any source other than a newspaper or magazine. Please
    attach a copy of the article to your write up.

    Your report is to include answers to the following:

    1. Who is being interviewed?


    2. What are they being asked?
    3. Where is the survey taking place?
    4. Why is someone conducting a survey? What do they want to know?
    5. How is the survey being conducted? Is it a phone survey? A mail-in survey? A “person on the
    street” survey?

    If any of the above are not specified in the article, say which ones are not.

    Other items to include:

    1. What conclusions do the authors draw?


    2. Do you think there are any limitations to the survey? Is the survey somehow flawed? (You are
    encouraged to speculate about this.)

    Your write up must be typed and double spaced. Include a copy (or print out) of the article you choose.
