The

Technical
Core
Knowledge is not a copy of reality.
To know an object, to know an event,
is not simply to look at it and make a
mental copy or image of it. To know
an object is to act on it. To know is to
modify, to transform the object, and
to understand the process of this
transformation , and as a
consequence to understand the way
the object is constructed.
- Jean Piaget
The technical core
of all schools is
teaching and
learning.
TECHNICAL CORE
 is the system of organizational
activity where the actual “product”
of the organization is produced

 it is exemplified by the teaching

and learning in the classroom.
LEARNING
 happens when experience produces
a stable change in someone’s
knowledge and behavior.
 has 3 general theories:

 Behavioral Theory
 Cognitive Theory
 Constructivist Theory
LEARNING
 Behavioral Theory
- stresses observable changes in behaviors, skills,
and habits
 Cognitive Theory
- underscores activities as thinking, remembering,
creating, and problem solving
 Constructivist Theory
- is interested in how individuals make meaning of
events and activities; hence, learning is seen as the
construction of knowledge.
A BEHAVIORAL PERSPECTIVE
ON LEARNING
Learning is a change in behavior
brought about by experience with
virtually no concern for the mental or
internal processes of thinking

Behavior is simply what a person does

in a given situation.
