Malaysia is a Twenty-Four Seven Buffet

Malaysia is a twenty-four seven buffet, a place where you have access to food anytime,

anywhere. Well, at least that’s the Malaysia I know. I was born and bred in Kuala Lumpur,

Malaysia, where there are people moving around everywhere, anytime, twenty-four hours a day.

This is a place where there are varieties of delicacies to choose from, ranging from the Malay’s

“Nasi Lemak”, Indian’s “mamak stall” and Chinese “hawker stalls. People go out for supper as

late as four A.M. in the wee hours and still have ample choices of what to eat! It’s not impossible

to find won-ton noodles, chicken chop or dim sum before dawn; as long as you seek, you would

find it. It might be unnatural to some people, but this is one of Malaysia’s biggest attractions!

Note:

Malays – A race in Malaysia, not a short form for Malaysia.

Nasi Lemak – Literally translated as “Oil Rice”, rice cooked with coconut milk accompanied by
hot sauce, anchovies, peanuts and hard boil eggs.

Mamak Stall - Stalls operated by mamaks (Tamil-Muslims in Malaysia), they sell variety of
Indian food.
