crispy french fries!
Difficulty:
Moderately Easy
Instructions
things you'll need:
potatoes
water
oil
salt
flour
1.
o 1
Cut the potatoes down to french fry size. I suggest slicing each to about a 1/2 inch wide and two to three inches long.
o 2
Fill a large bowl with water and about 2 tablespoons of salt. Place the french fries in the water and allow them to soak for at least 15 minutes.
o 3
While the fries are soaking, begin heating oil in deep fryer or large skillet. Remove french fries from water and dry with a paper towel.
o 4
Pour 1 cup of flour and 2 teaspoons of flour into a ziploc bag, then add potatoes by the handful and shake until french fries are completly covered.
o 5
Add french fries to hot oil and cook for approximately 4-6 minutes. Allow to cool slightly and serve warm.
4. Drain the water and dry the potatoes using a paper towel.
5. Deep fry the potatoes for 10 minutes or until the color turns light brown. Do not put too many potatoes in a batch as it will take more time for it to be cooked.
6. Remove the potatoes from the deep fryer or cooking pot and allow to cool for 5 minutes.
7. Put the fried potatoes back in the fryer and fry for another 3 minutes.
8. Remove the fried potatoes and transfer to a plate with paper towels. Sprinkle some salt to taste.
9. Serve. Share and enjoy!
Let them cool to room temperature on a rack between trips to the fryer
