Newsletters can be divided into two distinct types: printed on paper and in digital
formats, which are usually distributed via the Internet. The digital formats vary from the
simplest format, text to highly designable formats like Portable Document Format (PDF)
and HTML. The use of more formatting and web 2.0 attributes like video and sound
have become a market standard all over the world.
Newsletters are often sent by E-mail as E-newsletters and it are used by businesses or
associations to deliver information on a certain topic to those people who have an
interest in the subject. A newsletter will normally be delivered on a regular basis,
weekly, monthly, quarterly. They usually take the form of a small magazine, with news
articles, feature articles, and short pieces to entertain its subscribers. Usually newsletter
are often use by Businesses to keep their clients or customers up to date with the latest
products or special offers. Besides that it use for Large companies delivering
information about news within the business to keep staff or employees informed about
successes and Associations, such as clubs, schools, churches, charities, or
professional societies who want to deliver news and information to their members.
Every newsletter must deliver value to the reader, in terms of delivering information that
they are interested to know or are actively seeking; but the primary purpose of most
newsletters is to encourage support for the organization concerned.
Freelance writing opportunities are not often long term, therefore writing a newsletter
can be a lucrative opening for a freelance writer, providing a regular income. However,
writers who are commissioned to produce a newsletter for a company, business or
group may find that they are not only in charge of writing articles, but will also be
