Each year the CARE Foundation has scholarships available for graduating seniors at CUSD high schools from the various endowments that the Foundation manages. CUSD currently boasts 33 schools recognized as "California Distinguished Schools" and 11 schools recognized as "National Blue Ribbon Schools." CUSD Foundation Formed in 1992, the CARE Foundation enhances the effectiveness of the Capistrano Unified School District by supporting a wide array of programs and services for CUSD’s 51,000+ students. The CUSD encompasses 58 schools with over 51,000 students. It covers over 154 square miles in seven cities. The needs of a district this size, combined with the current budget crisis, are enormous.
